To stop plastic pollution, we do not need big decisions from the very start- all we need is to look around into our daily lives and start replacing the everyday plastic products that we use. It’s the small steps that lead to big change.
The tradition and history of making cleaning brushes from natural fibres like Coconut (coir), Sisal, Agave, Animal hair etc. has been from thousands of years as people made use of all the natural resources around them available locally. Until recently since the advent of plastic in 1930’s, slowly and gradually plastic has taken over the world.
Our Bottle Cleaning Brush has bristles made using Coir fibre which in simple terms is Coconut hair. Coir is a tough natural fibre which is quite durable, anti-bacterial and long lasting as well making it suitable for variety of applications from brushes to ropes to door mats, carpets etc.
The Coconut fibre is hand combed and then made into these cleaning brushes by hand.
No toxic chemicals are used in the process. End of life, the brush is home compostable and can be returned back to the nature either in a home compost bin or bury into the soil and it would not leave any trace behind.
Switching to good quality reusables that are close to the nature and can be returned back to the nature should be our goal as plastic is not a solution but instead is a problem.
